A Borderland Sciences Research Foundation is a non-profit organization of people who take an active interest in unusual happenings along the borderland between the visible and invisible worlds.
In the words of the late N. Meade Layne, founder and director of BSRF from 1945 (date of first publication) to 1959: "BSRA publications are scientific in approach but employ few technical expressions. They deal with significant phenomena which orthodox science cannot or will not investigate. For example - The Fortean falls of objects from the sky. Teleportation, Radiesthesia (Radionics), PK Effects, Underground Races, Mysterious Disappearances, Occult and Psychic phenomena, Photography of the Invisible, Nature of the Ethers and the problem of the Aeroforms (UFOs)."
The investigation of the invisible worlds is important to our evolution and awakening from the ordinary consciousness in which most people 'sleep.' As Riley Hansard Crabb, Director of BSRF from 1959 to 1985, has pointed out, "The input of the five senses do not give us answers to the problems of life, they only pose more questions."
Borderland Sciences Research Foundation is now under the Directorship of Thomas J. Brown, who writes under the pen name Thomas Maxwell Thompson. Alison Davidson is the Secretary-Treasurer. Eric Dollard is on the Board of Directors and is an active research scientist.
"The official organ of BSRF is the Journal of Borderland Research. The main function of BSRF is to act as a clearinghouse for information. Donations of material are welcome in letter, article or book. We are currently embarked on a publication drive to get as much information in print as possible. The Director's home acts as headquarters for receiving, coordinating and distributing pertinent information. For consultation on borderland phenomena or to keep us informed of current borderland researches being carried on, write or phone (619) 724-2043.
The Foundation currently publishes a large number of books and supplies a wide range of research devices. Send a Self-addressed stamped envelope for current information. New publications will be coming out as time permits; The best way to keep current is to join the Foundation. Our only mailing list is The Journal of Borderland Research.
