There have been articles published in Round Robin, sent in by Peggy LeGrand, said to be messages from Thomas Jefferson. I have not been particularly interested in them save for one thing: of course one would think that Mr. Jefferson is still interested in the progress of this country, and he still would like to express his views if such a thing were possible.

At Virginia Beach, not far from where Peggy lives, however, I am told the Cayce Readings on file show that the entity Thomas Jefferson has reincarnated and is apparently living a normal, active life.

I have not read this Reading nor do I know the young man to whom it belongs; but I am told the focus of his present life is not on the Thomas Jefferson incarnation, interesting as that might have been; but that he has come back to work out problems presented to him by a life previous to that one. This he seems to be doing. Of course there is no proof of this, but to those who know of this interesting matter there it is worth considering in greater detail, looking toward a possible solution, one which would encourage discussion among the Associates.

We know so little of reincarnation, and what incarnates. Some people hold that one life follows another, and you simply pick up the threads in this life where you left off before, working out your karma. This is a thing most find difficult to do because of the tangle of past lives.

This is a little too easy, too cut and dried; for in real life one's problems are not that easily dealt with.

Taking this thought a step farther, some feel that the problems of the present life may be those presented by many lives, and thus stretching back into the remote past. Something of this sort seems to be involved; however it is quite possible that only a part of us incarnates, a certain facet so to speak, and the bulk of the entity remains functioning on some other plane or dimension, being quite active in these invisible planes; although this activity is unknown to the part which incarnates.

This may help to explain strange feelings which come to us at times, some of our dreams or visions, and most certainly some of our invisible ties. I remember reading a book along this. The author, contacted as is Peggy, had many messages from well known people of the past. She stated that Spinoza and Disraeli were projections of the same entity, and yet in her book gave messages from each, It is as though the part of us which functioned in a certain incarnation can be [10] re-energized and actually function, even though the entity may have again taken a life on earth.

This book also told how Ralph W. Emerson and Thomas Carlyle continued their friendship after their transitions. Emerson it seemed was able to go to a higher field of activity than Carlyle, but often chose to remain with him to continue their friendship, which had been so stimulating to him. I know this for a fact, that when you contact the "integrated entity" you find yourself in the presence of something quite different from what you meet when you able to identify himself as will answer to a call at an ordinary seance.

Could it be that while T.J. may be, as the Cayce Readings indicate, incarnated again? The part of him which was T.J. may still be functioning, and this is the source of the messages you publish. It is certainly a thought.

Many truths are presented as fiction. The book by Joan Grant, called "The Laird and the Lady", presents a woman haunted by a ghost, who in fact was her former self, bent on pursuing her unfinished desires and interests.

This may serve as a discussion-focus for Round Robin. You know, when it was first published it was a place to exchange ideas on little-understood subjects, and I have always felt that when it functioned thus it was at its best.

The editor is glad to have this frank expression of opinion and analysis from Associate Mary Hyde. She has taken up one aspect of the problem of reincarnation, a phase which is not easy for us to understand nor to accept. And yet if it isn't understood it poses an unresolvable conflict between the TJ message of Peggy LeGrand and the Readings of Edgar Cayce. This is not unusual in metaphysical studies, nor in any other phase of life for that matter. Conflicts of ideas, conflicts of authorities have to be lived with. Eventually, if one is patient, the conflict resolves itself, and sometimes the resolution is quite surprising and quite simple. In any event the pages of our journal are open to discussion of this thing and to any other borderland problems which seem worthy of our attention.

Reincarnation, like Flying Saucers, is a highly controversial subject which interests the very few who would like to, or are trying to, think for themselves. We have Associates who reject the dogma some completely, backing up the opinions with the authority of Oahspe, where Jehovih speaks disparagingly of "the false doctrine of reincarnation", to which the editor asks, "What is the true doctrine of reincarnation?" Until an answer is forthcoming we'll stand by this statement in the Bible: "Be ye not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap."
