N. Meade Layne, M.A.
Our founder and first director, Meade Layne (September 8, 1882 – May 12, 1961), was, by his own accounting, “not a scientist or mathematician”, but “an academician who […] strayed into borderland sciences and psychic research.” He is most remembered for his Etheric Interpretation of the Flying Saucers, which he produced in collaboration with medium Mark Probert and others, but he also wrote extensively on a variety of other esoteric subjects, including dowsing and the finer forces, during his tenure as editor of the BSRA Round Robin.
